Self-Release Booting

Booting enforces compliance, but removals often spark unnecessary confrontation.

That’s why we are developing Self-Release Booting support directly within OPSCOM. This update gives your team a middle-ground enforcement option that prioritizes officer safety.

Instead of dispatching staff to face an upset violator who just paid a heavy fine, this new workflow allows the driver to “self-serve” their release. They pay via mobile, get the code, and remove the device themselves.

Key benefits for your team:

  • Enhanced Safety: Avoid the friction of face-to-face confrontations.

  • Operational Efficiency: Drastically reduce time spent waiting on-site or coordinating tows.

  • Real-Time Control: Instant unlock codes and status updates in your dashboard.

  • Secure Drop-off: Send details for remote drop-off of boot.

Check out the video below to see the workflow in action, or read the full technical breakdown on our Wiki here: Boot Management and Se... | OperationsCommander (OPSCOM)

Is this a tool your department would deploy? We’d love your feedback on this new direction!

Spoke with someone this week about how impactful this will be. It improves patrol safety and efficiency, while letting users resolve things on their own quickly and then be able to move on.

Better experience on both sides.

Agreed! No one wants to face each other in this situation. You just want to pay your fines and go.
